Comments:Maureen, Bill, and I witnessed the 1st seen eruption of Great Fountain Geyser after its wild phase this afternoon at 1302. It was a normal eruption that started after an overflow of just 30 minutes. It was a surprise after seeing multiple boiling overflows that would crash over the past few days. We may have missed at least one and possibly two eruptions that may have occurred in overnight darkness based upon markers, visitor reports and interpretation of odd wet pavement. An eruption triggered by a 30 minute overflow is certainly abnormal but after a wild phase anything's possible. Now we truly know that "it does that."

Overflow was up and down before the start. Not very tall, yet huge streamers, and so nice to see it erupt again.
