Thank you for posting a time for this eruption of Great Fountain —much better than my placeholder estimate of 1730 using the duration of the preceding eruption. Since the subsequent interval was 13h04m it is highly unlikely that the duration was only about 20 minutes. A 13-hour interval is preceded by an eruption that has about a 60 minute duration. An eruption that consists of three series of bursts has a duration of about 30 to 35 minutes and is followed by an interval of about 8-1/2 to 10 hours. I have never seen or heard of a Great Fountain eruption with a duration of about only 20 minutes, but, based on my experience monitoring Great Fountain durations and intervals, a 20 minute duration would be followed by an interval under 8-1/2 hours. Great Fountain has pauses of 5-9 minutes between series of bursts during an eruption. I suspect the reporter left during one of these pauses instead of waiting for the end of the eruption.
