Comments:erupted a second time this morning {this summer crossed out} around 9:40am. Ranger Hutchinson was the first to notice it at 9:45 and by; the extent of the runoff could tell that it had been playing at least 4 or 5 minutes. The height of the eruption was the same as the last one but the duration of the water phase was considerably longer. I watched it for 40 minutes and when checking with Ranger Mills at 11:30 we found that it was still emitting water although considerably less. During the peak of the eruption the vent immediately south of the main one was shooting water 20 feet straight up. Coarse sand sized pebbles {¼ inch in diameter} were being thrown into the basin. A survey during the water phase was made of the features around Ledge….the only notable change was that Valentine geyser had at least 5 times as much water coming out of the runoff channel with a fine heavy spray of water going as high as 15 feet above the vent.
