Latest Notes

Note IDStart Time (US/Mountain)End Time (US/Mountain)EntrantNote
40820 05 Aug 2025 @ 1525 05 Aug 2025 @ 1557 JSJ 48 eruptions in 32 minutes. Same behavior as yesterday (see note from one day ago). Most individual minutes had one or two or three eruptions. After the end of a Three Crater Geyser eruption, Little Brother would slow down. Watched one slowdown during this time - the slowdown lasted 8 minutes, consistent with yesterday's slowdowns. During individual minutes in the slowdown, Little Brother had no eruptions or one eruption.
40804 04 Aug 2025 @ 1516 04 Aug 2025 @ 1848 JSJ Watched Little Brother for ~3.5 hours. 301 eruptions. During most individual minutes, Little Brother would erupt once, twice, or three times. After the end of a Three Crater eruption, Little Brother would slow down for 8 or 9 minutes. After a longer Three Crater eruption, which was about 12 minutes in duration, Little Brother slowed down for about 12 minutes. In individual minutes during the slowdowns, Little Brother would have zero eruptions or one eruption only. Filmed some of these.
39998 22 Jun 2025 @ 0836 --- CraigC seems to erupt about twice a minute during Three Crater eruptions
40020 16 Jun 2025 @ 1214 --- Siegmund Little Brother active on intervals 30-60 seconds. I did not see the same at on the 15th, or at 1015 on the 16th. I did see the same continue the 17th to 20th every time I drove past.
39004 12 May 2025 @ 1007 --- steve Little Brother is erupting, usually with intervals under one minute and durations of 2-5 seconds. Height 3 to 12 feet.
38690 29 Apr 2025 @ 1355 29 Apr 2025 @ 1357 Graham 2 eruptions per minute up to now, then a gap. Three Crater also quiet.
38629 26 Apr 2025 @ 0717 --- CraigC Little Brother is erupting more than once a minute, but GT won't accept multiple entries for the same minute.
37635 19 Oct 2024 @ 1037 19 Oct 2024 @ 1042 DanS Erupting about every 1.5 mins, then paused 1037-1042 with no eruption.
37150 25 Sep 2024 @ 1208 25 Sep 2024 @ 1316 Graham Frequent eruptions, but shortly after each of the (3) Three Crater eruptions, there was a longer interval, as if Little Brother skipped an eruption. Longer intervals didn't occur at other times.
36927 12 Sep 2024 @ 1209 --- Micah Kipple 1209:12 - little blip to 4 inches without erupting.
36926 12 Sep 2024 @ 1206 --- Micah Kipple 1206:03 - Roiled up to about 8 inches but didn't erupt.
36436 17 Aug 2024 @ 1705 17 Aug 2024 @ 1736 minissa Have been watching as noted with eruptions every 2-3 minutes but LB has been draining bit by bit till pool between eruptions is barely visible from road. Eruptions are forceful and 10-15 feet high, though brief.
35525 24 Jun 2024 @ 1533 24 Jun 2024 @ 1547 steve I believe all the intervals recorded over this time span were closed intervals.
35157 12 Jun 2024 @ 1733 --- JSJ Brief, low surging / doming over vent area.
35156 12 Jun 2024 @ 1652 --- JSJ Brief pool bouncing and roiling over vent area.
35135 12 Jun 2024 @ 0623 --- CraigC There were 2 eruptions within 0623, could only enter the first one for the that time
34979 07 Jun 2024 @ 1508 07 Jun 2024 @ 1614 JSJ Closed intervals (some 1 minute intervals are hidden by GT in this listing). Only one Three Crater eruption during this time.
34896 04 Jun 2024 @ 1554 04 Jun 2024 @ 1728 JSJ All closed intervals (there's a hidden 1m interval in the GT postings). Erratic intervals, ranging from 1 minute to 18 minutes. All durations 2 to 3 seconds.
34902 04 Jun 2024 @ 1657 --- JSJ Two very low, brief surges / boils. Not enough to call it an eruption.
28363 20 Sep 2023 @ 1232 --- DanS Blipping for a few seconds
27425 05 Aug 2023 @ 1748 05 Aug 2023 @ 1911 JSJ No eruptions. Inactive.
26544 13 Jun 2023 @ 1520 --- Siegmund I watched 4 consecutive eruptions. Each was followed by 1 or 2 bursts from Three Crater a few seconds after Little Brother stopped. Some of these were quite large and vertical, as big as Little Brother itself. Little Brother remained active later today and the next 3 days but I never again saw Three Crater acting in concert with it.
25817 27 May 2023 @ 1545 --- TSBryan erupting every 1 to 3.5 minutes, durations usually less than 5 seconds
23620 07 Sep 2022 @ 1317 --- Graham Last entry on GT is Aug 15. Area around its crater is dry. Likely dormant now?
22410 08 Jul 2022 @ 1830 08 Jul 2022 @ 1904 minissa Noticed a tiny sput in the catch basin /berm {ie pool of standing water within the berm} of LB. Eruption is all of 2 inches and is difficult to see without binoculars but seems to be a tiny perpetual spouter. Didn't know if it had been noticed before.
21393 20 May 2022 @ 1942 --- BillJ Several brief eruptions around this time; intervals typically `1 minute but couldn't get exact times.
21382 20 May 2022 @ 0830 20 May 2022 @ 1013 Micah Kipple Little Brother is erupting 5-10 feet high every 30-70 seconds (with outliers on both sides) . Preliminary observations and timing this morning suggests that it likes to slow down after an eruption of 3 crater. Detailed eruption entries and further observations to follow.
21060 23 Apr 2022 @ 1705 23 Apr 2022 @ 1735 DanS Little Brother continues to erupt every minute or two.
21002 18 Apr 2022 @ 1739 --- steve Little Brother appears to be erupting about once a minute. GT tends to assume the second eruption is a secondary report of the eruption a minute earlier.
20989 16 Apr 2022 @ 1514 16 Apr 2022 @ 1519 steve Little Brother appears to be erupting once to twice a minute to 6-10 feet. So far all I have seen are single bursts.
20777 02 Feb 2022 @ 1022 --- Art-P erupting every 1 1/2 to 2 minutes
20747 22 Jan 2022 @ 1315 --- K.Cooper Continuing eruptions every minute, same size.
20746 22 Jan 2022 @ 0958 --- K.Cooper Continuing to erupt roughly every minute to two minutes. Roughly the same size as yesterday.
20743 21 Jan 2022 @ 1426 21 Jan 2022 @ 1442 aferrara Continued eruptions around once per minute. More frequent when Three Crater tries to start.
20741 21 Jan 2022 @ 1359 --- aferrara Tiny splash
11007 20 Apr 2019 @ 1427 --- Micah Kipple Dormant. Crater filled with orange bacteria.
