33290 09 Aug 1972 @ 1200 --- research-mab Basin Geyser - no time - Aug 9 activity changed the water to a gray color & killed all the algae in the drainage channel.
33289 15 May 1972 @ 1200 --- research-mab 1972 – May 15 – no time noted - 199F - Some spouting activity to one or two feet, but no geyser action - water opal this year, algae in drainage channels very colorful – green & yellow some red.

6579 09 Sep 1971 @ 1200 --- research-mab 09/09/1971 Basin Geyser has returned to its activity similar to last summer with two exceptions - the pool never fills to overflowing and drops about four feet and a small vent in the rocks just west of the pool is much more active with constant ebullition. Some bursts as high as 3’. {morning time}
6564 08 Aug 1971 @ 1230 08 Aug 1971 @ 1523 research-mab 08/08/1971 When checked at approx. 12:30 Basin Geyser was an almost dry fumerole, empty at 3:23.
6563 05 Aug 1971 @ 1800 --- research-mab 08/05/1971 The eruptive behavior of Basin Geyser has changed. - there is a small continuous steam jet at the east end of the pool.
6559 21 Jul 1971 @ 1000 --- research-mab 07/21/1971 Basin Geyser water very low this am; no water last night at 6:00 pm. {generic morning time}

6596 07 Sep 1970 @ 1800 --- research-mab 09/07/1970 Basin Geyser has had no real change, erupting to an average height of 4 to 6 feet.
6619 01 Sep 1970 @ 1300 --- research-mab 09/01/1970 A survey of pools and geysers in the area made during the {Ledge} eruption showed that Jetsam Pool had a larger volume (3 times) of run-off than usual. Basin was about completely drained with a small amount of water splashing about in the bottom of its fissure. As I write this at 3:55 there is still a considerable amount of steam still emerging under pressure from the Ledge geyser.
33287 14 Jul 1970 @ 1200 --- research-mab July 14 1970 - no time noted - The runoff channel has been extended on both sides and plants have been killed below the Basin. See picture. Has been seen to play 20 to 25 feet. The walk may have to be moved if this keeps up.
6609 05 Jul 1970 @ 1800 --- research-mab 07/05/1970 Basin Geyser erupted some twenty feet for a period of one minute. {no specific time noted}
33286 30 Jun 1970 @ 1200 --- research-mab June 1970 Basin has changed from a boiling spring to a gray muddy geyser like spring – The geyser activity is not true geyser activity. The spring water is bubbling from a foot at one time to three & five feet at other times, but the water will never stop bubbling. When the high bubbling takes place some water will run out of the basin, when the water drops the bubbling action is about two feet lower than the clear bubbling water was last year. [NOTE no date in Thermal Record – EOM]
6589 05 Jun 1970 @ 1800 --- research-mab 06/05/1970 Basin has started to act more like a geyser. The water in Basin is gray with clay.
