Additionally, those of the M6.9 and M6.3 aftershocks passed through beginning 1819 and 1825, respectively. This is just SSW of the M7.4 earthquake (now evidently a foreshock) on July 20. |

Shockwaves from an M7.4 foreshock east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Kamchatka Peninsula) passed through the Yellowstone seismic network beginning this minute. Also shockwaves from the M6.6 foreshock at 0037; and M6.7 and M6.6 aftershocks (of the M7.4) at 0117 and 0132, respectively.
Updated 2025-07-29: Initially this note implied that the M7.4 quake was the mainshock, however, today an M8.0 occurred at 2324:50 UTC, effectively "downgrading" the M7.4 to a foreshock. |

YVO has a webcam in Biscuit Basin to monitor Black Diamond. It was placed on May 14, has been online since May 22 and announced to the public in this week's Caldera Chronicles. The frame updates every 15 minutes (no livestream at this time due to bandwidth constraints), but video is recorded locally and can be saved if changes are detected. The intention is that it remains in place throughout this summer, but can be hardened to last through winter. |
