Note:While watching Fountain's 2150 eruption, we saw a bright streak across the sky to the northwest at approximately 2210. As viewed from the boardwalk in front of Fountain, it crossed from left to right from behind Clepsydra to behind Fountain, seeming to break up into multiple pieces as it went along and leaving a significant silver-tinted tail behind it. The sky above it was beginning to darken, and below the streak it was still pale blue and orange from the sunset. Apparently this was space debris that burned up in the earth's atmosphere.
