I wanted to add a note about the last Steamboat eruption (9/18) – One of the strangest I’ve seen
9/19 “normal” eruption
9/20 water back in Steamboat! Started out as small spray but turned into large voluminous minors – 20 or 30 ft tall, both N & S vents erupting simultaneously! I honestly thought Steamboat might erupt again??
But alas, they diminished & Steamboat quieted down. I had never seen that much water return after a major & it was nearly 48 hours later. Odd!!
