Note:8/22/1985 - inferred time - Summary of Veteran Geyser - From watching it on 7/3 & 7/4 and on 8/21 & 8/22 it was shown that it was definitely still cyclic. It seemed that one day the intervals would be getting more frequent or longer than the intervals of the eruption was the opposite way of the preceding day. If the day before was getting more frequent – then the next day would be getting longer. If the first day the intervals was getting longer, the next day they would be getting more frequent. It definitely is still very cyclic. In my opinion I estimate it is having cycles about 1½ to 2 days for it to go through its complete cycle. The eruptions are mainly 2 to 2 ½ minutes long. The eruptions have been normal Veteran Eruptions with water coming out all three vents = A= the top main vent to 25 feet or so (20 to 30 ft) B= the second vent (hole at the bottom of the basin) Basin half full of water – with water going up to 5/6 feet or so. C= the third vent near the walkway shooting water 10 to 12 feet, to half the walkway. It is still probably very much like it was last year – 1984.
