Note:09/30/1964 The eruptive pattern is changed from Sep 28. At the 10:12 eruption, there was no overflow. Previous to the 11:15 eruption, there was strong agitation at 11:05 and water began to flow into the 1st terrace. Backflow into the crater began at 11:08 and the main pool dropped about 4 inches. The agitation lessened with the flow reversed at 11:11 when it gradually increased until the eruption. There was very little overflow. Previous to the 12:09 eruption, there was strong agitation at 12:02 when the water level was down 8 inches. At 12:07, water flowed into 1st terrace. The eruption followed 2 minutes later with no backflow. Previous to the 1:11 eruption, the behavior of the 11:15 eruption was followed almost exactly. So there were two patterns of eruption alternating. The water is still milky blue. The durations today were from 3 to 3½ minutes.
